Biographies:



Megan Bartula is one of the newest members of Metronome!  With a background in competitive dance, Megan has performed and competed throughout the United States, winning titles at the regional and national level.  She also performed for several years at fundraising events in association with the Children's Charities Coalition .  At the University of Michigan, Megan was a dancer, choreographer, and an executive member of Rhythm Tap Ensemble and Pure Dance.  In addition to performing, Megan has also taught dance for 8 years, and has a knack for inspiring a love of tap dancing in her students.



Nicole Harris is a founding member of Monkeyhouse and made her professional dance debut with them at nineteen dancing on one stilt in What's Next? at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival.  Nicole is also the Artistic Director of TAProject, a youth tap ensemble based out of Impulse Dance Center in Natick, MA where she was on the faculty for ten years and the choreographer for the Natick High School Drama Department.  Nicole is dedicated to bringing dance to the suburbs and has organized multiple master class series to expose dancers from suburban studios to world renowned tap dancers and choreographers such as Dianne Walker, Derick Grant and Josh Bergasse. Recently Nicole moved to New York City to focus on continuing her dance education and building new work.


Annie Mayer has been the Artistic Director, choreographer and a principal dancer of Metronome Rhythm Tap since 2002. Recently, she was a guest artist with Connecticut Ballet’s Celebration of Dance – an educational performance for school children. Annie performed her first solo show, On Tap, at the Kansas City Fringe Festival 2006. She teaches tap at Steps On Broadway and at the Connecticut Ballet Center. She is also a performer and choreographer with the modern dance company, Camara Dance Unlimited. In 2007, Annie toured five Canadian Fringe Theater Festivals, including Edmonton, with her husband, actor/playwright Michael Walsh, in a dance-theater production called If Tap Shoes Could Talk.  This summer Annie has stage managed two productions for Manhattan Redhead.and is currently producing her first child, due out in October!


Emily Regas received her Masters in Performing Artist Administration from New York


University and a dance degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.  In addition


to working in development at The Juilliard School, Emily dances with The Arch Studio’s A


Path to Peace project, Malleable Dance Theater, Omega Dance Company, and is a dancer/


choreographer for Camara Dance Unlimited and Joyful Noise Tap Ensemble.


Tanya Rivard grew up in Montreal, Quebec, where she learned to tap from legendary teacher Ethel Bruneau. She continued her studies in the US where she was strongly influenced by Master teachers like Dianne Walker, Acia Gray, Derick Grant, Jason Samuel Smith and Dormeshia Sumbry Edwards to name a few. In 2005, she became assistant director of Dynamix Soles, a rhythm tap company under the artistic direction of Travis Knights, her greatest influence. She has performed in the Montreal International Jazz Festival, New York’s Tap City Showcase at the Symphony Space Theatre on Broadway, and The Eastern Canadian Tap conference in Toronto and has made numerous television appearances. With an interest in Latin jazz music, Tanya began intensive studies in Mambo and with a knack for foot work soon became a member of the Caroline Pare Dance Company, with whom she performed at The International Salsa Congress. Tanya has recently been chosen to work on the creation of a dance show for Cirque du Soleil to open in Macau, China 2009. When she isn’t traveling, Tanya teaches as a member of the faculty of the Conservatoire de Danse de Montréal and other institutions in and around her city. Now, with a mission to see more tap dancers working, Tanya is currently developing her first show exploring tap-salsa fusion and plans to debut it in 2009.
